Your Annapurna adventure begins from Pokhara.

After breakfast, drive towards the trailhead around Nayapul/Birethanti. From here, begin your trek towards Ghandruk, one of the best-known traditional Gurung settlements in the Annapurna region.

The trail passes through beautiful countryside, terraced fields, forests and mountain villages.

Ghandruk is an excellent first overnight stop, offering beautiful views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Trekking: Approximately 4–6 hours, depending on the selected trailhead and route.

Overnight: Ghandruk
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, begin your trek towards Chhomrong.

The route passes through forested sections and traditional mountain landscapes before reaching Chhomrong, an important settlement and gateway towards the Annapurna Sanctuary.

As you approach Chhomrong, the Himalayan scenery becomes increasingly impressive, with views towards Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South.

The government itinerary places Ghandruk and Chhomrong on the second stage of the classic 7-day ABC route.

Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours

Overnight: Chhomrong
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, descend through the stone steps from Chhomrong towards the river before continuing through the forest towards Sinuwa and Bamboo.

The landscape gradually changes as you enter the narrow Modi Khola valley.

The trail becomes greener and more forested, with bamboo and rhododendron vegetation surrounding sections of the route.

Bamboo is a popular overnight stop on the way towards the higher elevations.

Trekking: Approximately 5–6 hours

Overnight: Bamboo
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Today, the trail continues deeper into the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Walk through dense forest and pass several mountain settlements, including Dovan and Himalaya, before reaching Deurali.

Altitude begins to increase significantly during this section, so maintaining a steady walking pace and staying hydrated is important.

The government itinerary places Bamboo, Dovan, Himalaya and Deurali along this approach to Annapurna Base Camp.

Trekking: Approximately 5–7 hours

Overnight: Deurali
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Today is the highlight of the trek.

After breakfast, begin your climb from Deurali towards Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC).

As you climb higher, the vegetation becomes thinner and the landscape opens into spectacular Himalayan terrain.

From MBC, continue towards Annapurna Base Camp, situated at approximately 4,130 metres.

The trail enters the magnificent Annapurna Sanctuary, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks.

Upon reaching ABC, take time to enjoy the extraordinary mountain panorama and capture photographs.

The government itinerary specifically lists the Deurali → MBC → Annapurna Base Camp stage and places ABC at approximately 4,130 m.

Trekking: Approximately 5–7 hours

Overnight: Annapurna Base Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Wake up early to experience the changing colours of the mountains around Annapurna Base Camp.

After breakfast, begin the descent.

Retrace the trail through Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Deurali, Himalaya and Dovan before continuing towards Bamboo.

Descending provides a completely different perspective of the landscape you experienced while climbing.

The official government itinerary lists the ABC → MBC → Deurali → Himalaya → Dovan → Bamboo descent as the sixth day.

Trekking: Approximately 6–8 hours

Overnight: Bamboo
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, begin your final day on the trail.

Continue towards Sinuwa and Chhomrong, followed by the descent towards Jhinu Danda.

Jhinu is particularly popular for its natural hot springs, making it a relaxing place to unwind after several days of trekking.

After the trek, continue towards the roadhead and drive back to Pokhara.

Your Annapurna Base Camp adventure concludes in Pokhara.

The Nepal government itinerary follows the final stage from Bamboo through Sinuwa, Chhomrong and Jhinu to Siwai/Syauli Bazar, Birethanti and Nayapul before returning to Pokhara or Kathmandu.

Trekking: Approximately 5–7 hours plus road transfer
