Begin in Paro, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful valleys, before experiencing the country’s most iconic landmark — Taktsang Monastery, popularly known as Tiger’s Nest. Continue to Thimphu, Bhutan’s unique capital, where traditional Bhutanese culture, Buddhist heritage and modern life come together. Visit Buddha Dordenma, explore the city’s important landmarks and experience the distinctive character of the Himalayan kingdom.

The journey continues through the spectacular Dochula Pass to the historic Punakha Valley. Discover Punakha Dzong, visit the culturally significant Chimi Lhakhang, and cross a traditional suspension bridge surrounded by mountain scenery. Return to Paro for your final night, including a visit to Paro Dzong, before departing Bhutan.

Paro Arrival → Thimphu

Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you will be welcomed and assisted with your transfer.

Begin your journey through Bhutan’s spectacular mountain scenery as you travel from Paro to Thimphu, the country’s capital.

On arrival, check in to your hotel and take time to relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a gentle introduction to Thimphu or explore the surrounding area.

Thimphu Sightseeing

After breakfast, spend the day exploring the cultural heart of Bhutan’s capital.

Visit Buddha Dordenma, the impressive giant Buddha statue overlooking the Thimphu Valley. Continue to the Memorial Chorten, an important religious landmark where you can experience the peaceful rhythm of local Buddhist life.

Visit Tashichho Dzong, an impressive traditional Bhutanese fortress-monastery and an important centre of Bhutanese administration and religion.

Depending on available time, explore local handicraft shops and other cultural attractions before returning to your hotel.

Thimphu → Dochula → Punakha

After breakfast, depart Thimphu and travel towards Punakha through the spectacular Dochula Pass.

Stop at the pass to admire the Himalayan scenery and visit the famous 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens. On clear days, the location provides magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.

Continue into the beautiful Punakha Valley.

Visit Chimi Lhakhang, a unique temple associated with Bhutanese Buddhist traditions and located amid peaceful countryside.

Continue to Punakha and check in to your hotel.

Punakha Valley

After breakfast, explore one of Bhutan’s most spectacular cultural landmarks — Punakha Dzong.

Beautifully positioned at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, the dzong is renowned for its traditional Bhutanese architecture and dramatic setting.

Continue to the nearby Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest traditional suspension bridges in Bhutan. Walk across the bridge while enjoying views of the surrounding valley, river and mountains.

The remainder of the day is relaxed, allowing you to enjoy Punakha’s peaceful landscape.

Punakha → Paro

After breakfast, check out and begin your scenic journey back to Paro.

Enjoy the changing Himalayan landscapes along the route, with opportunities for photographs and short stops depending on road and weather conditions.

On arrival in Paro, check in to your hotel and relax.

Later, explore Paro town or enjoy a peaceful evening in the valley.

Paro → Tiger’s Nest → Paro

After breakfast, prepare for the signature experience of your Bhutan journey — the hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest).

Follow the scenic mountain trail through pine forests towards the monastery, dramatically positioned on a cliff above the Paro Valley. Take time to appreciate the spiritual atmosphere and spectacular Himalayan surroundings before beginning the descent.

After returning to Paro, take some time to rest.

Later, visit Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), an impressive fortress-monastery overlooking the Paro Valley. Explore its traditional architecture and enjoy the surrounding mountain scenery.

Return to your hotel and enjoy your final evening in Bhutan.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel.

Depending on your departure time, enjoy some final moments in Paro before your transfer to Paro International Airport.
